Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I’m just sitting here with my coffee, pondering the day……got a short while to relax….and then it’s blast off time!

By 11:00 a.m. we will be at full staff, and off and running so 650 people can have an enjoyable meal. We set up the restaurant last night…..I super-stocked the bar…..there are 2 really long tables lined up with chafing pans ready to do their thing, waiting to reveal their treasures…..the bars stools are gone, the bar will be the dessert buffet for the day, (try and stop me from sampling) so as I think about the day to come….(and because it’s Thanksgiving) I must dwell upon that for which I am grateful.

Yes, I have to work, but we’re all in this together. Together, being the operative word here……the people I work with range in age for 17 to 69.…everyone is missing something different today…a family dinner, an out-of-town trip, friends, relatives…..but that aside….we get to share a rare unity…..we work together, sometimes we play together, and today we will team it up and do what we do best, work together. (Together still being the operative word)

We have grown near and dear to each others hearts….put aside the fact that we are working…we still get to spend the day the with people we care about….and for that I am truly grateful.
