Okay, so a short time ago I told you about the night we had a party of 100 booked, and it snowed, and the roads were terrible, and it took three times as long to get anywhere…..and only 50 people showed up. Had it snowed the day before or the day after, it wouldn’t have affected the party.
Now we’re looking forward to working Friday and Saturday night….should be nice and busy….no snow in the forecast…..however it got ridiculously cold. If I didn’t have to work, I probably would not have left the house….so a huge thank you to all those who braved the elements and came out.
We only had about half the crowd of a normal Friday night. Oh we still had fun… we always do. Of course twice the people would have made it twice as fun.
On the plus side, at 10:00 p.m. we were out the door. The thermometer on my car said it was 2 degrees outside. No wonder everyone stayed home.
The small town that we are on the outskirts of, about a mile down the road, (that used to sit off by itself until it got gobbled up by suburbia) was having it’s annual “Ice Festival.“ We were hoping to get part of the crowd from that. It’s not so far fetched…..this is a big festival, people come from all over the world to compete in the ice carving! You know, come to think of it…..it seems every year when they have the festival, it’s either single digit temperatures, or it’s in the 40’s and everything melts.
Saturday night was a little better, but I think that’s because everyone was a little stir crazy from holding themselves house bound on Friday night.
It’s supposed to warm up tomorrow…it’ll be in the 20's! Oooooh…nice and balmy….can leave the gloves in my pocket. Something just ain’t right when you’re hoping for a warm 20 degree day.
